acep - Adult Christian Education Promotion Group

acep: Welcome
ACEP stands for Adult Christian Education Promotion Group.
Formed in Wirral in 2006, we are a small independent group of Christians drawn from several different local churches.

> Our Aim
To encourage people, particularly among those who don’t normally go to church, to find out more about the Christian faith.

> Our Rationale
In the 2001 Census, over 70% of the population counted themselves as Christians. Probably less than 10% attend church services with some regularity. We consider it very likely that among the remaining 60% there are those who would like to learn more without joining groups or churches. The project seeks to reach these people.

> Our Booklet
We have produced a small Booklet that gives easily readable information about different ways in which those who are interested could learn more about the Christian faith. The different ways include a DVD, two Christian websites, a choice between seven different books and two modern versions of the Bible. There is also some general information about Christian courses, Alpha in particular. These offer different approaches to the Christian faith, and the notes about each of them are intended to help people find one that most appeals to them.

> Our Future Plans
If the pilot project proves to be sufficiently successful, we are aiming that it will be followed in due course by similar projects in other areas.
